The Deck Out-playmat contest: Finalists!

Hi everyone!

So after yesterday’s canard, it’s time to get back on track. I’m feeling great as for a moment I thought I had lost my chance for the travel award, but thankfully that wasn’t true. My hopes are alive and kicking as are the hopes for many other players as well.

Anyways, finally I have decided the final two designs from the contest. For many of you these finalists aren’t surprising and in the end I decided to go with both of them. The finalists are…

Designs 8 and 18! You can find the pictures below from this entry: http://www.thedeckout.com/2013/04/the-deck-out-playmat-contest-nominees.html

I believe they are the most neutral ones and even though number 13 got the most votes and I personally love it, it doesn’t portrait The Deck Out as well as the designs 8 and 18. I already e-mailed both of the finalists about their designs and asked to improve them. I’m still looking into copyrights of the number 8, so it may be that number 18 wins, because of the copyright issues, but what you think. Should I only have one mat or do you think it’s good to have two options for The Deck Out-playmat? Feel free to comment on that.

Also, as Plasma Freeze prereleases will begin this weekend, my Plasma Freeze coverage will begin next week! So excited to see if there are any surprises in the set list of Plasma Freeze!

P.S. One-hit-Ko.com released a 6 months old interview of me yesterday! Check it out even though it's a bit outdated... http://www.onehitko.com/2013/04/24/so-you-want-to-be-a-master-esa-juntunen/

  1. One design would be better so its "Official"

  2. Thanks again for the article share! Also, I think that one mat would be better just so it's not too confusing and in the rare case that 8 has a copyright issue.

  3. I vote for a single design, and that should be #18.

  4. I really like 8, but I'm not sure which version I like better. I'm not a fan of the prize layout though... I'm pretty sure I read in the rules somewhere, that you're not "supposed" to have your prizes like that. People do anyway, but I just feel like promoting that doesn't seem like a good idea.

  5. I don't see a problem with having two designs, but in any case I prefer 18. I think it just looks more interesting without being overwhelming, and I also like that I wouldn't have the prize layout for when I play other card games.

  7. i also vote 18 as it provides an official logo for the blog.

  8. Absolutely #18 if it's between 8 and 18. TheDeckOut is practically run by N at this point.

  9. #13 with an N from NVI 92 face instead of the "BAM" yellow flashy thing would be amazing by the way.

    1. Hi :> I'm the one who made #13 so I would like to thank you for your appreciation to my playmat (I've also read your previous posts in other discussion). I like your blog (and your avatar), thank you again, you made me happy for my work ^_^/

  10. Both of the finalists use the likeness of N. this is a character whose copyright is owned by Nintendo. If you sell either of these designs it will be against the law
